“Network International is currently actively connecting POS terminals of partner merchants to servicing Mir cards in Dubai and other regions of the UAE. By the end of 2021, Network International plans to complete the configuration of all existing POS terminals in its network to accept Russian cards, ”the statement said.

The general director of the payment system, Vladimir Komlev, said that the company promotes the acceptance of Mir cards in countries popular with Russian tourists. Dubai and other emirates of the UAE are among the most popular holiday destinations among Russians, so this season tourists will be able to pay with Mir cards there.

The Mir payment system and Network International signed a memorandum on the development of cooperation in June 2021 at the site of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Now Mir cards are accepted in Turkey, Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Cyprus.

The National Payment Card System (NSPK) was created in 2014 to protect card payments from sanctions against Russia. In 2015, the issue of Mir cards began. The payment system occupied 24% of the Russian market. Also, NSPK is the operator of the Fast Payment System. NSPK’s revenue according to RAS for 2020 increased by 37.5% – to 22.23 billion rubles. Net profit in annual terms increased almost 1.5 times – up to 8.23 ​​billion rubles.
