Dhaka’s Mir Group is also in trouble if Chittagong’s Mir Group is criticized. A message has been sent to the media on behalf of the company. It noted, “We note with deep concern, that a recent news report has created widespread confusion among people about the two Mir groups having the same name.” Recently, various national dailies and online media have created this misunderstanding based on the news about S Alam’s alleged removal of 14 cars with the help of BNP leaders in Chittagong. However, there is no relationship between the two groups. Both have different business model, ownership, products etc. Due to misunderstanding, many are conflating Mir Group of Chittagong with Mir Group of Dhaka.

The message of Mir Group of Dhaka also said, we want to say that we do not have any warehouse or office in Patia, Chittagong. Mir Group of Chittagong is a food product manufacturing company. We do not have any food or consumer goods business. Well established in the construction sector, our company’s journey began in 1960 with the establishment of Mir Aktar Hossain Limited by Mir Akib Hossain. Since then, our company has been proving its talent and expertise in various infrastructure construction works.
