The husband could not stand his wife leaving the marital home. Consumed by hatred and jealousy, he murders her

The excitement had reached its climax last weekend in Yanfolila and in several other localities neighboring the Commune of Wassoulou-Ballé. And for good reason, L. Diakité fatally stabbed his second wife KD When he understood that he had committed the irreparable, he immediately fled, then tried to commit suicide by turning the weapon against himself which he used to kill his wife. After the heinous act, the news invaded the whole country like wildfire.

The two spouses, all from Lontola (Wassoulou) were married and had children. Everything was going relatively well in this polygamous household. But as in most cases, time passes and habits are no longer those of before between husband and new bride. The neighbors thus witnessed incessant and often senseless quarrels.

Finally, the spouses no longer blew the same trumpet. There came a time when the couple was united by the marriage bond in name only. Generally, in situations like this, it only takes a little for things to turn in the negative direction. Following endless quarrels, the atmosphere had become almost unlivable among the Diakites.
Completely overwhelmed by this situation, the wife was forced to think about finding a solution in order to be at peace. This is how she decided to leave the village to go to Bamako. None of our sources could find out where she was staying, let alone the time she spent in the city of the three Caymans.

Wounded in her pride- However, it is undeniable that she returned to the village, the day before the Ramadan feast, in order to celebrate the feast of Eid el Fitr with her family. The lady had left the marital home without her husband’s consent. He had a hard time digesting this. He had taken this act as an affront to his honor and felt hurt in his pride. In reality, without having the slightest proof, the man had believed that his better half had left him definitively. He is an inwardly wounded man who went around in circles waiting for his wife’s hypothetical return to the marital home.

Everything changed the day after the party, so Saturday during the day. That day, the young lady got on a motorcycle driven by one of her younger brothers. She was going to a nearby village for sambé-sambé. In the aftermath, the man who had prepared himself accordingly, took his motorcycle to follow his wife and his younger brother also on a motorcycle.

Arrived at a specific place, he ordered the young driver to stop with his wife. So said, so done. Very furious, and without going by the back of the spoon, the man asked his wife what she thought of their union now. Calmly, the wife replied that it is rather the responsibility of her parents. So she didn’t have to comment on that.

This response put her spouse in all his states. Violent verbal exchanges ensued. Completely invaded by hatred, he stabbed the lady several times. The latter collapses on the ground, while blood came out of the parts affected by the bladed weapon. She subsequently fainted before dying on the spot.

Meanwhile, when he realized that he had just committed the irreparable, he took his machine and fled. In the heat of the moment, the victim’s younger brother who watched helplessly at the scene informed the villagers. Immediately, the whole village was informed. This is how the hunters mobilized to put the grappling hook on him. Cornered in his desperate flight, he will attempt to commit suicide by stabbing himself with the weapon of his crime.
He was finally found bathing in a pool of blood a little further from the places where he stabbed his wife. Informed, the Yanfolila Territorial Brigade went there to evacuate the injured husband to the CHU Gabriel Touré to receive treatment. The sequence of events does not say whether he survived or not, but it is clear that his vital prognosis was engaged.
