Patyam : Patyam Swadeshini won the 22nd Miss Kerala beauty pageant held at Ernakulam. Gopika Suresh, daughter of Indrampetta Suresh and Sindhu of Pathayakunnu Konkachi, achieved this feat.
Gopika Suresh, 23, is a postgraduate student in Clinical Psychology in Bangalore. The results of the match came out late on Thursday night.
Livia Liffey from Ernakulam became the first runner up and Gagana Gopal from Thrissur became the second runner up. Director Jeethu Joseph, music director Deepak Dev, singer Anoop Shankar, Aneesha Cherian, Sobha Viswanathan, actresses Iniya, Veena Nair and Deepa Thomas were the judges. Twenty-five contestants participated.
The final question for the contestants was who was responsible for the spread of intoxication which is becoming the curse of the new age. The best answer to this was to play a key role in Gopika’s success.
Gopika Suresh is a well known Bharatanatyam artist. His father Suresh is an engineer at IBM, Bangalore. Her mother Sindhu runs a nursery school in Bangalore. Brother Hariharan Suresh.
