Miss Scarlet, private detective
The series consists of six episodes on Polar + from July 8

Although she is a beautiful young English girl, Eliza Scarlet cannot hide her anger in the face of romantic prejudices. How, as the third season of these exciting investigations begins, can we still be surprised to see a woman practicing detective work? However, she shows talent, stubbornness and courage, qualities which are not often seen in her male counterparts.

Frequenting the rooms of taverns and small houses of poverty, not forgetting a few smoky pubs, Eliza responds to requests from her customers when she is not leading herself, in search of a profitable business. Because your company is not rolling in gold. Never mind: always dapper and well-coiffed, our clever sleuth, played by the beautiful Kate Phillips, traces his path and relies on the support of his childhood friend, Shadow Inspector Wellington of Scotland Yard.

Hidden feelings

As in good romantic comedy, their fingers express a deep attachment better than words. What they will never admit is fostering mutual respect and a close bond when it comes to tracking down criminals. And if Wellington tries to curb the young woman’s dangerous initiatives, he must admit that they continue his own investigations. Bad guys are recruited from the mafia, or simply from ordinary citizens who take the wrong path one day to escape their mediocre position.

The series, which this new season adjusts its tempo after a somewhat languid first episode, sent a good gallery of secondary characters. The mother and prickly Ivy, Eliza’s governess; the dangerous and charismatic Moses, exiled from his distant Jamaica; Nash, the founder of a powerful detective agency who would like to hire a colleague… Serene and graceful, Miss Scarlet runs this small world with her wand.
