It is 2024 and for the first time in history, the most important beauty pageant in the country, Miss Universe Guatemalawill be held in The old Guatemala. During the preparation prior to the grand final, the 23 candidates Competing for the crown have taken advantage of the beautiful landscapes of the colonial city to take photographs.

Each of the candidates represents a region, community, department or municipality of the country, highlighting the diversity and cultural richness of Guatemala. The departments and municipalities represented are: Antigua Guatemala, Chiquimula, Guatemala City, El Progreso, Jalapa, Jutiapa, Mixco, Sololá, Sacatepéquez, Santa Rosa, Zacapa, Petén, Guatemala, Izabal, Quetzaltenango, Chimaltenango, Quiché and San Lucas Sacatepéquez.

A few days away from the grand finale
The Miss Universe Guatemala 2024 final The gala will be held on Sunday, July 7th starting at 6:00 p.m. The César Brañas Municipal Hall in Antigua Guatemala will be the venue where the gala will take place. This event promises to be a night full of glamour, excitement and celebrations, where the new representative of Guatemala in the international pageant will be crowned.

A special guest will be present at this event: Sheynnis Palacioswho was chosen as Miss Universe 2023The Nicaraguan will arrive in the country this Friday, July 5, and will be greeted with a warm welcome at La Aurora International Airport. A caravan will accompany her from the capital city to La Antigua Guatemala, offering Guatemalans the opportunity to join in this celebration and welcome the beauty queen.

During their stay in the colonial city, the contestants have visited and captured moments in emblematic places. The photos have been shared through the candidates’ social networks or by the organizer of the contest.
One of these sites was the Santa Catalina Arch, one of the most representative symbols of La Antigua, where both national and foreign tourists and celebrities have taken the opportunity to capture beautiful photos. This arch, with its distinctive colonial architecture, was the setting for a postcard with the 23 participants.
Other iconic sites they visited were the Ruins of Santa Clara and the Convent of Las Capuchinas, which with their impressive architecture and history, have served as a space not only for photo sessions, but also for important ceremonies and events. In addition, they also visited the Handicraft Market, the National Museum of Art of Guatemala, among other spaces.
