France was represented by Clémence Botino, Miss France 2020. The Guadeloupean made it to the Top 40, and was eliminated at the gates of the Top 12. During her participation in Miss Universe, in 2021, Clémence Botino managed to climb to the Top 10. This Saturday was the last beauty contest in which the former Miss France could participate.

France’s last victory at Miss World dates back to 1953, the year in which Denise Perrier was crowned. In 2019, Ophély Mézino came in second place, just like Marine Ltemporel in 2013.

This year, it is the Lebanese Yasmina Zaytoun who is awarded the title of first runner-up, just ahead of Lesego Chombo, Miss Botswana, and Aché Abrahams, Miss Trinidad and Tobago.

The election, which took place this Saturday in India, had been the subject of several postponements, in particular due to political tensions within the host country.

The last title holder, elected in 2021, was Karolina Bielawska, miss of Polish origin.
