In Aliquippa, in the state of Pennsylvania, a 13-year-old girl, who has been missing since the beginning of August, is in jail with older detainees, AP news. He found himself in this situation after lying about his age and identity during his arrest for shoplifting, according to Beaver County District Attorney Nate Bible.

The girl is known in prison as a missing person. Therefore, the authorities took him out of his prison before telling his parents who came to pick him up. The charges against him were later transferred to the youth court.

Fake name, fake birthday

Pittsburgh police issued a missing persons report on August 6, with reports that the girl had been seen around town and on public transport. Arrested on August 17 for shoplifting in Beaver Falls, he provided authorities with a false name and date of birth, convincing them he was 18 years old.

At the time of her arrest, Child Protective Services in Beaver and Allegheny counties were contacted, but no records could be found due to the mistaken identity provided by the girl. The number of days he spent in custody with the adults was not specified by the prosecutor.
