Learn more about the incident,

The two went fishing in a motor boat as usual on Sunday evening the day before yesterday. Relatives of the suspects were engaged in a search operation at sea as it was too late for those who went to sea to return to shore the next day.

The boat they went on was found alone in the sea. Vavuniya police and security forces have been informed about the incident.

Local vortices of the area and Calcutta Theavattavan vortices then joined in the search from morning till evening and recovered the bodies from the sinking area.

Residents in the area are concerned that the two were caught fishing in the Kayankeni sea area last Saturday and made a profit, following which they went fishing the next day.

Meanwhile, locals suspect that one person in the boat may have fallen into the sea due to the speed of the wind and the impact of the sea wave, while the other attempt to save him may have resulted in the death of the two.

However, the deaths of the two have caused a great deal of grief in the area.
