Missing youth found at sea in Oman

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police has said that two young men who went missing at sea in Oman have not been found. The search for two indigenous youths who went missing eight days ago is still in progress. However, the Royal Oman Police said that news of a similar incident in 2019 is now circulating on social media as new.

Earlier on Thursday, the Royal Oman Police reported that two indigenous youths had gone missing off the coast of Al Ashkhara in Oman’s South Al Sharqia Governorate. The Coast Guard Police Command in South Al Sharqia Governorate reported that the two went to sea in a fishing boat. The Royal Oman Police said it was conducting an extensive search for them. In addition to police aviation and Coast Guard police, the Royal Air Force of Oman, the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority and a group of locals are on the lookout.

The Royal Oman Police has requested that all seafarers be provided with adequate security. Those who go fishing need to be careful to go in groups and communicate. Police have also requested that people in the areas they go to be informed.
