NOTICIACRISTIANA.COM- A Brazilian missionary, who survived a serious traffic accident in Mozambique, decided to dedicate his life to planting a church, and baptizing 27 people, in that African country.

Luís Pereira, 34 years old, worked as a stonemason, and served in the ministry of the Church of Christ of Itinga, in Bahia, together with his father and his brother, as reported missoesurgente.com.

However, in 2021 he felt God’s call to go to Africa as a missionary. In February 2022, he arrived in Mozambique with his wife and two children, ready to share the gospel with the locals.
However, just two months later, he suffered a traffic accident, which left him with serious injuries to his head, neck, and spine.

Pereira was transferred to a hospital in South Africa, where doctors told him he had little chance of surviving. However, he trusted in the power of God, and clung to prayer.

“I told God that if he let me live, I would serve him with all my heart,” Pereira said, according to the Missoes Urgente portal.

To the surprise of the doctors, Pereira miraculously recovered and was able to return to Mozambique in August 2022. There, he resumed his missionary work and began planting a church in the city of Nampula.

In just over a year, Pereira managed to gather more than 50 people who were interested in the message of Christ. Of them, 27 decided to be baptized and become part of the new congregation.

Pereira said that his dream is to continue planting churches in Africa, and form disciples who can multiply the gospel. “God gave me a second chance, and I want to make the most of it,” he concluded.
