The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, called today for Europe’s energy independence and common defense, reported the Greek publication Kathimerini, quoted by BTA.
“Europe needs to take bold steps to make the European economy more competitive while strengthening social cohesion. It is time for us, as Europeans, to finally organize our energy independence and start our common defense,” Mitsotakis said in his weekly address on social media.
In the past week, key European leaders such as German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron have emphasized the need for enhanced European defense cooperation.
