Mitsubishi Slashes Eclipse Cross Prices After Weak Norway Sales

Mitsubishi Motors has slashed prices on its Eclipse Cross electric vehicle by up to 62,500 Norwegian kroner in Norway, where only 79 units have been registered this year amid weak buyer interest driven largely by a lack of all-wheel drive.

Mitsubishi made its electric vehicle return in the spring with the Eclipse Cross, a family SUV designed to put the Japanese manufacturer back on the electric track after a quiet period following its early pioneering days with the i-MiEV in 2011. Yet sales have stalled significantly in the Norwegian market, falling short of even the top 100 registration rankings for the year.

With this adjustment, the model positions itself among the most affordable options on the market offering a driving range exceeding 630 kilometers. Meanwhile, the higher-tier Intense+ and Instyle versions now cost 417,400 and 462,400 kroner, respectively, down from previous price tags of 479,900 and 524,900 kroner.

Eclipse Cross Shares Platform with Ariya and Scenic

Mitsubishi offers an eight-year warranty on the vehicle, surpassing the five-year coverage provided by its platform relatives.

Across international markets, the vehicle has experienced adjustments outside Norway as well. The older version maintains a starting price of 40,490 euros, equivalent to 46,900 USD. When launched in the Dutch market in the previous year, the Eclipse Cross EV carried a starting price of 45,690 euros, or 53,000 USD, reflecting a reduction of 12,700 euros, or 14,700 USD.

Looking ahead, a 2027 model featuring an upgraded 89 kWh battery is scheduled for release under the Long-Range designation, with pricing details to be announced at a later date.
