MK Moshe Arbel of Shas has begun an altruistic kidney donation process last month – in which a kidney is donated from a living person to a stranger who does not know him.
A statement from his bureau said that “as part of the preliminary tests performed, an abnormal finding was discovered in the kidneys”, following which “today MK Arbel underwent a medical procedure during which the findings were successfully removed in a surgical procedure.”
Arbel states: “Israel is a power of kindness and the first place in the world in kidney donations. The Creator of the world has privileged me to ask to join this amazing array of volunteers that has actually led to my early discovery and rapid recovery. I thank the public for their interest in my well-being and would like to say that I feel good and thank the doctors for the prompt treatment. “
