jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Constitutional Court has sent official summons letters to four ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet and the Honorary Council for General Election Organizers (DKPP), Tuesday (2/4).

“Today, Tuesday, official summons have been sent to the parties,” said Head of the Constitutional Court Administrative and Registrar’s Legal Bureau, Fajar Laksono, when contacted in Jakarta, Tuesday (2/4).

However, Fajar did not explain the mechanism for the parties’ attendance and also did not mention who the parties were who had confirmed they would attend the General Election Results Dispute (PHPU) hearing at the Constitutional Court.

However, Fajar emphasized that the parties were obliged to attend. “What is certain is that the Constitutional Court has properly summoned it and the party summoned by the court is obliged to attend and is not represented according to the summons letter,” he said.

Previously, the MK scheduled the summons of four Advanced Indonesia Cabinet ministers to appear as parties whose statements needed to be heard in the 2024 PHPU Presidential Election follow-up session, Friday (5/4).

“To the parties, it is necessary to convey that Friday will be reserved for the summons of parties deemed necessary by the Constitutional Court, based on the results of the meeting of the Honorable Judges this morning,” said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo in the PHPU Presidential Election hearing, Monday (1/4) .

Suhartoyo explained that based on the results of the judges’ deliberation meeting, the four ministers who were scheduled to be summoned were the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, and the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini. Apart from the four ministers, the MK also scheduled summons for the DKPP.

Suhartoyo said that the summons of the five parties who were categorized as important for the MK to hear their statements was not a form of accommodating requests from the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md camps, but was an independent stance taken by the Constitutional Justices.
