Chief Minister MK Stalin has handed over a check for Rs. 42 lakhs to the winning teams of the 71st National Basketball Championship. Chief Minister MK Stalin handed over checks for a total of Rs. 42 lakhs to the Tamil Nadu men’s team which won a gold medal and Rs. The 71st National Senior Basketball Championship 2022 on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Basketball Association, recognized by the Indian Basketball Association, was held from April 3 to April 10 at the Chennai Nehru Indoor Stadium. Various teams from 32 states participated in these competitions.
Of those, 31 teams qualified. There were 16 teams in the men’s division and 15 teams in the women’s division. Tamil Nadu won the gold medal in the men’s final against Punjab, Punjab on the 10th. The Tamil Nadu women’s team won the bronze medal against Kerala in the women’s 3rd place match.
2.50 lakh each to 12 players of the Tamil Nadu men’s basketball team who won gold medals at the 71st National Basketball Championship. He handed over checks for a total of Rs 42 lakh to 12 players at the rate of Rs 1 lakh each at a rate of Rs 12 lakh. He also extended his congratulations to all the coaches and basketball club executives who worked tirelessly for the success of the teams.
