MK Stalin welcomes Tamil Nadu students at Chennai Airport

Following Russia’s war on Ukraine, the federal government took steps to rescue Indians stranded there.

At the same time, First Minister MK Stalin took swift action to rescue about 2,000 Tamils, including students who had gone to Ukraine for medical studies.

Following this, a rescue team was formed to help rescue Tamil Nadu students stranded in Ukraine. The panel also included MPs Trichy Siva, MM Abdullah, Dr Veerasamy and five other officials including officers Jacintha and Ajay Yadav.

They went to Delhi and met External Affairs Minister Jaisankar and demanded that necessary steps be taken to rescue the Tamil Nadu students.

Accordingly, Tamil Nadu students stranded in Ukraine were gradually rescued. Due to the actions taken by the Tamil Nadu team in collaboration with the Central Government, the Tamil Nadu students subsequently returned home safely.

The federal government had also sent warplanes to rescue Indians stranded in Ukraine. Through these flights also, the Tamils ​​came to Delhi and then to Chennai. More than 1,500 people have so far returned home in various groups.

In this situation, the last group of Tamil Nadu students who suffered in Ukraine has returned home safely. The federal government has launched Operation Ganga to rescue Indians stranded in Ukraine and has so far rescued more than 18,000 Indians.

In that regard, 57 Tamil Nadu students from Ukraine arrived in Delhi safely yesterday. They were welcomed by the Tamil Nadu team in Delhi and given the necessary assistance.

At the Tamil Nadu Home in Delhi, 57 students were provided with accommodation and food.

In this condition all these students were brought to Chennai by air this morning. The students arrived at the Chennai airport at 9 am.

First-Minister MK Stalin went in person to the airport and welcomed the students. Then he gave a bouquet to the students and inquired about their health. MK Stalin also asked students about their plight in Ukraine.

MPs Trichy Siva and Abdullah, who were staying in Delhi, also came with the students.

Ministers Ma Subramaniam, Thamo Anbarasan and Ginger Mastan also welcomed the students.

So far 1,800 Tamil Nadu students have been rescued, according to Tamil Nadu government officials.

Thirty-four Tamil Nadu students stranded in Ukraine have said they do not want to return to Tamil Nadu and are staying there. Apart from them, all Tamils ​​stranded in Ukraine have been rescued and repatriated.

Students studying medicine in Ukraine have demanded that the Tamil Nadu government take action to continue their studies. Accordingly, it is noteworthy that the Government of Tamil Nadu is taking all necessary steps for students to pursue medical studies.
