jpnn.comJAKARTA – Chairman of the DPP PDI Perjuangan Deddy Yevri Sitorus said that the MKD’s move to summon legislator Rieke Diah Pitaloka would make the people lose trust in the DPR.

According to Deddy, MKD’s summons to Rieke had an impact on the critical power of DPR members to speak out.

“It has the potential to make people lose trust in the DPR institution,” said the DPR RI Commission II legislator to the media crew, Monday (30/12).

After all, Deddy continued that the DPR is an institution that carries out a balancing and supervisory function over the management of government power.

The North Kalimantan Electoral District (Dapil) legislator said that the supervisory function was carried out and manifested by members of the DPR.

Deddy said the MKD should take issue with DPR members who neglect their duties to convey the aspirations of the people. Not towards legislators who are critical of government policies.

“Yes, what the MKD should be examining, in my opinion, are members of the DPR who never speak either in the courtroom or to the public via mainstream media or social media,” he said.

Because, continued Deddy, parliament comes from the word parle which means to speak, so it is natural for legislators to speak to the public.

PDI Perjuangan DPP Chairman Deddy Yevri Sitorus said that trust in the DPR had the potential to decrease after the MKD summoned Rieke Diah Pitaloka.
