The MMA world mourns one of its members. Brazilian Felipe Colares, former fighter in the UFC, the American league, died at the age of 29 after being hit by a bus on his way home from training in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Quickly taken care of by the firefighters, the young father, who leaves behind a wife and a 10-month-old son, did not survive his transport to the hospital, according to the Globo newspaper.

Felipe Colares, who had fought from 2013 to 2022 in MMA, had eleven wins for four losses. He had notably been Jungle Fight featherweight champion in 2017. Since his retirement in 2022, he had joined the French organization ARES. He had also won his first fight against the Frenchman Alioune Nahaye on February 17th.

The Brazilian also made headlines in January by arresting a thief in the middle of the street. He had explained that he had used his jiu-jitsu techniques. “The ARES family sends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Felipe Colares,” the organization wrote on Twitter on Monday.
