Nova Scotia residents will soon have increased access to crucial health services as the public Health Mobile Unit (PHMU) rolls out a series of clinics across the province, offering vaccinations and testing for a range of illnesses. The initiative aims to bolster local access to preventative care, particularly for those in more remote communities.

Expanding Healthcare Reach Across the Province

The PHMU is designed to bring essential healthcare services directly to communities, removing barriers to access and ensuring equitable distribution of vital immunizations and testing. according to data released by Nova Scotia Health, clinics will be operating throughout the week, with a full schedule of locations and times detailed below.

Available Services

  • Adult RSV vaccine (for individuals 75 years and older)
  • Pneumococcal vaccine (for individuals 65 years and older)
  • Shingles vaccine (for individuals 65 years and older)
  • COVID-19 and Influenza tests (eligibility criteria apply; details can be found at www.nshealth.ca/coronavirustesting)

Appointments are encouraged for COVID-19, Influenza, and adult RSV vaccines, and also COVID-19 and influenza tests, though limited drop-in availability will be offered. The pneumococcal and shingles vaccines will be available on a drop-in basis only.

Northern Zone

Vaccinations are available to individuals aged 6 months and older who meet eligibility requirements. All services are offered free of charge to those who qualify.
