(Qaiser Khokhar) It has been decided to shut down the mobile service on the 9th and 10th of Muharram in view of the security and public order situation.
Home Secretary Punjab says that mobile phone will not be stopped in Lahore during Muharram, it is recommended to suspend mobile service only in the areas where processions and assemblies are held, mobile service will not be completely suspended in any city. Mobile service will be partially closed on 9th and 10th of Muharram from 8 am to 10 pm in most districts, service will not be stopped in Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sargodha, Khushab, Sialkot, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal. Besides, mobile service will be restored in Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Wahari, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Okara and Chiniot.
Mobile service will be partially suspended in Gujranullah, Narowal and Toba Tek Singh and Bhakkar, Mobile service will also be partially suspended in Mandi Bahauddin, Wazirabad and Rajanpur.
Mobile service will be partially suspended in Faisalabad, Bahawalnagar and Hafizabad, 28 places in Rawalpindi, 15 in Rahimyar Khan, 11 in Mianwali and Bahawalpur, 10 in Leh, 7 in Muzaffargarh and 6 in Nankana Sahib. Mobile service will be off at the locations.
The areas where the mobile service will be suspended on the ninth and tenth of Muharram include some areas of Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Jhang, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar.
It was decided to suspend mobile service at certain places to maintain law and order and protect citizens.
