Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a patriot and Modi has done many things in the country. He was speaking at the annual meeting of the Walday Discussion Club, a policy analysis board.

The near future belongs to India. India can be proud of being the largest democracy. Putin also said that the concept of ‘Make in India’ is economically and ethically sound.

Putin also spoke about India-Russia relations. Putin said that the relationship between the two countries is decades long and he is sure that it will continue in the future. Modi had asked him to increase the import of fertiliser. Since then, the export of fertilizer to India has increased 7.6 times, Putin said. He also said that trade related to agriculture has doubled.

Putin criticized the West for playing dirty games to gain world supremacy. They have only commercial interests. He also warned that new powers would emerge in the near future.
