38-year-old Luka Modric has renewed his contract with Real Madrid for another year. The superstar of Croatia will stay in Europe’s top club until June 30, 2025.
Modric completed the contract with the Spanish club on Wednesday. Real then confirmed Modric’s stay in a statement, saying, ‘We have agreed to extend the contract with our (new) captain. He is staying with the club till June 30, 2025.’
Modric didn’t get a chance to play much time in Real’s jersey last season. But Carlo Ancelotti has shown his utility whenever he has been brought on as a substitute. The veteran midfielder has contributed greatly to La Liga recovery, Champions League win. Therefore, the term of Real and Modric duo increased by one more year.
“Delighted to continue playing for the best club in the world,” Modric wrote on social media. Modric has achieved everything in his career by spending an era at this club. Won 6 Champions League, 4 La Liga. Modric also won the Ballon d’Or in 2018 during Messi and Ronaldo’s golden years. He has a total of 26 trophies in his personal showcase.
