Kochi: An FIR has been lodged alleging that Mofia Parveen committed suicide after being assured that justice would not be served on CI Sudhir. Mofia and her husband were called to the Aluva East police station to resolve Mofia’s complaint against her husband, Mohammad Suhail.
While talking, Mofia got angry and slapped Suhail on the arm. Sudhir, a station house officer, saw this and spoke to Mofia. According to the FIR, he was hanging on to the idea that he would never get justice from the CIA again.
The suicide was reported on November 22 between 12 noon and 6 pm. Aluva East CI CL Sudhir was suspended yesterday in connection with the incident. The DGP directed the City Traffic AC to conduct a departmental inquiry. The suspension was based on the report of the Kochi Range DIG.
The DIG reported that there was a fall on the part of the officer. He also mentioned the omissions of the officer in some previous cases. The Chief Minister’s Office has directed that the suspension be ordered as soon as possible as the Congress agitation intensifies. The Chief Minister, who spoke to Mofia Parveen’s father, had assured that stern action would be taken. The case is currently being investigated by the Ernakulam Rural Crime Branch.
