Speaking on France 24 a month after the start of the Israel-Hamas war, the Palestinian Authority prime minister calls for an “immediate ceasefire” in Gaza, while declaring that “the Israelis do not want ceasefire because today (they) are in a state of mind for revenge.” Mohammad Shtayyeh says Israel’s goal of eliminating Hamas “won’t happen” and calls for a “comprehensive solution” to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He wants “intervention by the international community to put pressure on Israel” and “general elections” for all Palestinians.
