The shooting attack in Hawara: Ma’ayan Lash, 12 years old, who lives in the Rachelim settlement, was present in one car attack before the vehicle that was hit. In a conversation with knitters, she describes the dramatic moments.
“I saw the terrorist running with something in his hand, I saw him right in my eyes”
“We finished our studies, I study at the Olpana in Har Bracha,” Lash explains, “we passed through Hvara and suddenly we hear a bunch of gunfire and then a big boom and then we looked in all directions and saw a lot of soldiers running.”
“I saw the terrorist running with something in his hand, I saw him right in the eye. The driver quickly called the hotline to report, everyone was panicking and crying. At first we were sure they were going to shoot us. The driver said, ‘Calm down, it’s in the car behind us’. It was very scary.”
This is not the first time she has experienced an incident of this kind, “stones were thrown at us once. At the beginning of a year on the way back from the studio and suddenly we heard a loud boom, then we saw cracks in the window and immediately realized that stones had been thrown.”
“There was also this time two weeks ago with Hillel Weigal the 14th. We were some time after them, everything was blocked, we got stuck for three hours.”
“Mom, we’re in Hvara, now they’re shooting at the car behind us”
Ayelet Lash, Maayan’s mother wrote a post in which she described the shooting incident from her direction, when Maayan called her: “Mom, we are in Hawara, they are shooting at the car behind us now, everyone here is running and there is a mess”
As mentioned, in the attack a man was seriously injured and a woman was slightly injured.
