With “Showtunes” Lambchop are back with their 15th long-playing record since 1994. Which in some places as „arguably the most consistently brilliant and unique American group to emerge during the 1990s“ (AllMusic) basically consists of Kurt Wagner and changing staff. The latest album is also rather unusual for Lambchop standards, so Wagner said in an interview with Fader that he would not be surprised by this listener reaction: “Yep, that’s where he really went off the rails”.
