Santhosh, 35, from Amrutahalli, Bengaluru, and his wife Ritushree, 30. Both of them started a fake Facebook account by uploading a picture of another woman.
Through this they give ‘friend request’ to senior citizens and establish friendship with them.
A few days later, from the Facebook account, the seniors were told, ‘My husband does not have a job. It is difficult to maintain a family. I am struggling with a small child. So I am going to divorce my husband. I will give it to you from the proceeds. Give me money,’ he said.
Based on this, Saudappa has given 10 lakh rupees. It was only then that he came to know that things had gone wrong and reported it to the police. The police have arrested the couple and are interrogating them.
