Tiktokers compete against each other on the platform in live matches where more money is donated to. Critics say: This is how money is pulled out of the pockets of the followers – and not just a little.

Barrelo not only cheers on his community, as quoted above, he also makes promises: “My top three supporters are being pushed everywhere. Instagram, Tiktok, wherever you want. I follow you everywhere.” His goal: to receive as many gifts as possible from his followers in five minutes. Whoever loses, i.e. who receives the fewest donations, will be punished and, depending on the arrangement, may have to slap themselves or put a lemon in their eye with some Tiktokern.
