Actually, Indian Railways has started the facility of booking train tickets without immediate payment for e-tickets. However, this facility is for IRCTC i-Pay payment users, which is called Autopay. The ‘Auto Pay’ feature of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) iPay payment gateway can be linked with UPI, credit cards and debit cards. In such a situation, if you book a train ticket using Auto Pay, the money will be deducted from your account at the same time when your ticket booking PNR is generated.

The benefit of this facility will be available to those users who book high priced railway e-tickets. Also, the users whose tickets are included in the waiting list. Also, those who book general tickets and instant tickets will get benefit. If your train ticket berth is not available or no room option is visible, then money on train ticket booking will not be deducted from your account.

- If the ticket remains waiting even after the chart is prepared, then only the cancellation charge will be applicable, while the rest of the money will be returned to the account.
- If a person booking a waitlisted ticket does not get a confirmed ticket, the amount deducted will be refunded in three to four days.
- If a person uses the autopay facility of IRCTC iPay to book a waitlisted ticket. And if a confirmed ticket is not received, the money will be refunded immediately.
