The film team has officially announced that the film ‘Monkey Pedal’ will be officially selected and screened by Indian Panorama at the annual International Film Festival in Goa from November 20 to 28 this year.

This movie is directed by Kamalakkannan, who directed Madhubana Kaada, Vattam movies, this movie is ‘Monkey Pedal’. The film is produced by Montage Pictures along with Savitha Shanmugam, Sumi Bhaskaran, Co-Producer SRJ Productions Sanjay Jayakumar and Katha Kelu Entertainers.
Prabhakar Shanmugam and Kamalakannan have adapted the screenplay based on their short story Rasi Alagappan. Set in the summers of the 1980s in Salem (present-day Namakkal district) and Erode districts along the Kaveri River, the film features actor Kali Venkat in the lead role along with children.

The music is composed by Gibran Vaipoda who captivated the crowd with lively songs and excellent Pinnani music. Gibran’s Pinnani music and lyrics form the backbone of the film. Anthony PJ Reuben’s soundtrack, who composed the soundtracks for Kaala, Pariyerum Perumal, Sarpatta Paramparai, Nithwaal, Jalsa (Hindi), has made this film world class.
An additional strength is the superb cinematography by Siva Nandeeswaran, who has done cinematography for Theeran Akhamari Uttam, Teddy, Ka/Be Ranasingham and Vattam. Sumi Bhaskaran has portrayed the director’s imagination on screen with her excellent cinematography. Director Brahma, N.T. Rajkumar has written songs.

Balaji Gopal, who has done the color mixing for Ventu Tananthu Kadu, Jai Bheem, Kathuvakula Rendu Kadal, Sanikaitham and Super Deluxe, has contributed to this film. The film narrates an interesting story between a father who does not know how to ride a bicycle and his son who is keen on cycling in the summer of 1980s in a village called Katheri.
