The Minister of Public Works, Edgar Montaño, warned yesterday that the credit to build the Buena Vista – Las Cruces highway is at “serious risk” if the Governor of Santa Cruz ratifies the intergovernmental agreement.
“The Government has already put the credit at serious risk, be careful that tomorrow the financier says: ‘well, since they don’t agree with this, we won’t take the financial resources.’ And we are left with nothing; So, the assembly members of Creemos from the department of Santa Cruz have to think about it very well and once and for all ratify this agreement that the governor (Luis Fernando Camacho) has already signed,” he said on state television.
He mentioned that, after two and a half years of insistence on this highway project, Camacho signed the intergovernmental agreement, but government officials “invent problems”, such as the assumption that it would affect the environment.
