Montpellier formalizes the All Black Karl Tu’inukuafe

by time news

It had been expected since May, it’s finally official: the pillar of the All Blacks Karl Tu’inukuafe (28 caps) is joining the MHR until 2025.

The former left pillar of the All Blacks Karl Tu’inukuafe has signed up for a three-year term in Montpellier, the French champion announced on Thursday.

Karl Tu’inukuafe, 29, from Auckland, arrives from the Auckland Blues franchise.

He has 28 caps since 2017 with the All Blacks but was not selected by ex-coach Steve Hansen at the 2019 World Cup in Japan.

This solid left pillar (1.85 m, 125 kg), who had a brief experience at Narbonne during the 2015-2016 season, will compete for his favorite position with Enzo Forletta, Simon-Pierre Chauvac and Grégory Fichten, recovering since December after a cruciate ligament rupture in a knee.

Tu’inukuafe, who arrived in Hérault on Sunday, has taken part in training since the start of the week and is taking his bearings in his new squad before the meeting on Saturday in Castres, revenge for the last final.

Montpellier occupies 3rd place in the Top 14 on the eve of the 6th day.
