MONUSCO: The United Arab Emirates “firmly” condemns the terrorist attack against the FAR contingent in the DRC
Abu Dhabi – The United Arab Emirates has “strongly” condemned the terrorist attack against the contingent of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), deployed as part of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO), which resulted in the death of a Moroccan peacekeeper and the injury of other elements of the contingent.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stressed that the country “strongly condemns these criminal acts” and expressed “its continued rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that aim to undermine security and stability and are contrary to humanitarian values and principles.”
The ministry reiterated the UAE’s full solidarity with the Moroccan mission, which is participating with the United Nations international peacekeeping forces in operations to maintain security and stability in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco, as well as to the families of the victims of this heinous crime, while wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
