Palakkad: Three more people arrested in Mannarkkad Karimba moral assault case. Shamir and Akbar Ali, natives of Karimba, and Shamir, native of Panayambadam, were arrested. They were later released on bail by the station.
With this, the number of people arrested in the case has increased to five. The police have registered a case against six people who have been seen. Meanwhile, a student injured in the attack was shifted to Palakkad district hospital due to physical discomfort.
Locals beat the students of Karimba HSS High School because boys and girls were together at Mannarkkad bus stop. In the complaint, the students said that when five girls and boys each were waiting for the bus, a person came there and questioned them about sitting with the girls.
He abused the female students and tried to beat them up. The students say that when they questioned this, the locals ganged up and beat them up. The students said that the locals came in a group and beat them up. The children were beaten in front of the teacher. The teacher who tried to stop him was pushed away.
CWC seeks report on incident of thrashing of school students in moral attack. The CWC is taking the incident of assaulting students very seriously. The District Child Protection Officer and Kalladikode SHO have been directed to give an accurate report of what happened.
