A 35-year-old man, with a clean criminal record, was indicted on Saturday in Lorient (Morbihan) for “spouse homicide” and placed in detention, we learned in the evening from the Lorient prosecutor’s office.

On the night of Thursday to Friday, the lifeless body of a 32-year-old woman was discovered in the town of Marzan (Morbihan) “lying on the road”, according to a press release from the prosecution.

A criminal investigation was then opened in the act, by the Vannes Public Prosecutor’s Office, for “voluntary homicide” and the investigations entrusted to the Vannes Research Brigade. “The first forensic findings leaned towards a probable high-kinetic shock with a vehicle” and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday, according to the prosecution.

Testimonies contradict the suspect’s version

“Thanks to the first testimonies, the suspicions were directed towards the victim’s partner”, placed in police custody. “He admitted to having overturned his wife with his vehicle but claimed to have done so without realizing that he was hitting a person and even less his wife”, according to the press release which specifies: “The indirect testimonies and findings contradicted this version. »

Given the criminal nature of the facts, the Vannes prosecutor’s office withdrew “in favor of that of Lorient, a criminal center”. “The investigations will now continue on letters rogatory and expertise”, adds the same source.
