The 7 Zonal Health Coordination participated in the Childhood with a Future Caravan with healthy child control services and care for pregnant women.
The Ministry of Public Health (MSP), through District 07D03 Atahualpa-Portovelo-Zaruma, actively participated in the “Childhood with a Future” caravan of the Technical Secretariat Ecuador Grows Without Child Malnutrition, which took place at the Rio Amarillo stadium in the Portovelo canton, in El Oro province.
For this caravan, the MSP activated stands, among them the regular vaccination, nutritional advice, HEARTS initiative, the latter allows determining if a person has a future risk of suffering from diabetes or arterial hypertension. In addition, qualifications for disabilities, control of healthy children and monitoring of pregnant women were also carried out at the stands.
In total, 70 boys and girls under 2 years of age were treated, and 37 older adults who received medical attention. The objective of this activation, supported by the National Government, is to bring health services closer to the population.
Julio Guaranda, director of District 07D03 of the MSP, highlighted the importance of these spaces for citizens to access the different services provided by the MSP and other State institutions. In addition, he said, this allows promoting health promotion and disease prevention strategies in the community.
In the Infancia Con Futuro caravan, on behalf of Health Zone 7, 2nd health professionals participated who, in addition to offering services, delivered printed edu-communicational material to reach the attendees of this fair with more information.
