“In the reduction of inequalities, public education and the development of science are essential,” he stressed.
During the forum’‘Education and Science in Transformation’where he received the support of more than 1,200 teachers, to whom he pointed out that one of the fundamental missions of the movement of the fourth transformation is to fight for public education, but above all for its quality, so that in this way it exists the possibility of accessing more and better life opportunities to achieve well-being.
“The right to education is one of the fundamental rights of the people of Mexico,” he pointed out.
Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized some of the strategies that have been implemented by the Government of Mexico City to ensure that they can access education, as is the case of “My Scholarship to Start”, from which all the boys and girls of the capital benefit.
Along the same lines, he highlighted actions such as free initial education, the “The School is Ours” program, as well as the creation of new educational spaces such as the University of Health and the Rosario Castellanos Institute of Higher Studies, through which it seeks to promote democracy, love of education and research both in the City and in other entities of the Mexican Republic.
In the event, Ofelia Angulo Guerrero, Secretary of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Mexico City and Rosaura Ruiz Gutiérrez, professor of the Faculty of Science of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, emphasized that the work in favor of education and science carried out in the admiration of Claudia Sheinbaum is the basis for the construction of a horizon of hope and transformation.
