More than 13 thousand uniformed officers will protect the return to school

The Government of the Mexico City reported that this Monday the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) will deploy to 13 thousand 814 troops distributed in the school zones of the 16 capital municipalities to safeguard the return to classes.

“We are returning to school tomorrow, and that requires work, effort, and deployment, because it increases circulation, mobility, and the number of people on the move, and of course, it is very important to protect children and adolescents who are returning to school,” Batres said at a press conference.

The Undersecretary of Citizen Participation and Crime Prevention of the SSC, Paulina Salazar Patinoreported that the operation will begin at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, August 26, with the participation of different corporations such as Preventive Police, Undersecretary of Police Operations, Industrial Banking Police, Auxiliary Police, Undersecretary of Traffic Control, and the School Security Directorate.

The operational deployment will also include 1,427 official vehicles, 47 motorcycles, five cranes, 12 ambulances, Rescue and Medical Emergency Squad (ERUM) and a helicopter from the Cóndores group.

C2 and C5 will join forces to improve surveillance through real-time monitoring at congested intersections, in addition to implementing mobility work to prevent accidents and facilitate access to educational facilities.

Salazar Patiño added that they will maintain patrols on public transport routes, Modal Transfer Centersas well as in stations Metro, Metrobus, Light Rail y Electric Transport System.

As for motorists, authorities urged motorists to respect the Traffic Regulations and Rules.
