The consequences of the flood continue to be felt by families in the prefecture of Siguiri. On the night of yesterday Monday to Tuesday, September 10, 2024, torrential rain fell on the said prefecture, causing several damages.

In Bouré Kamagan, a district under the sub-prefecture of Kintinia, located 60 km from Siguiri, 150 hectares of rice were completely destroyed by water. Faced with this deplorable situation, the owner of the field did not want to talk about the loss, under the pretext that he is no longer in control. When questioned, a neighbor of the flood victim confided in our editorial staff. “More than 150 hectares of rice destroyed by water. Look at this quantity of water, we can do nothing but thank God, because he does no harm. He has lost everything,” testified Amadi Diallo.

As we went to press, more than twenty hectares of his cornfield were at risk of being flooded.

It should be noted that around thirty villages were affected by the flooding in the Siguiri prefecture.
