The reindustrialization of the country has become a major political concern for the executive. “For the first time, we have an industrial policy at the initiative of France and Germany”, welcomed Tuesday on Europe 1 the Minister of Economy, Bruno Le Maire, who is preparing a bill to develop green industry.

However, the game is far from over. According to a study by the Fabrique de l’industrie, a new wave of deindustrialization threatens France. Between the rise in energy prices hitting Europe, the introduction of a carbon tax at the borders and competition from the massive subsidies for green industries provided for by the American Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), nearly 155,000 jobs industrialists – or around 6% of the workforce – would be in danger in France, whether they were eliminated or weakened. This figure also includes job creations that will not take place in the current context.
