The first citywide cleanup event this year was held in Karaganda. The city was cleared of garbage by workers of various enterprises and companies, KSK, OSI, PT, workers of small and medium-sized businesses and ordinary citizens, reports a correspondent for the website eKaraganda.kz.

The cleanup took place on April 13. People with bags and rakes could be seen throughout the city. The townspeople were putting things in order in almost every yard. The district akimats told us how much garbage they managed to collect.

The akimat named after Kazybek bi said that more than 9 thousand cubic meters of garbage were sent to the landfill. Work continues.

“More than 12 thousand people from 720 collectives took part in the city cleanup, of which 12 large utility enterprises totaling 1,350 people, 58 educational institutions totaling 3,200 people, 35 state and budget institutions totaling 1,800 people. And also 37 KSK, OSI and PT in the amount of 350 people – their forces removed more than 100 households. Almost 500 SMEs also took part, which is more than 5 thousand people,” the press service of the district akimat reported.

During the cleanup day, more than 15 thousand bags of garbage were collected; at the moment, six contracting organizations are removing the bags.

The akimat of the district named after Alikhan Bokeykhanov responded that 5,098 residents of the district took part in the cleanup. Of these, about 1,000 enterprises, more than 7,000 bags of garbage were removed.

Indeed, many businesses, companies and institutions spoke about how they cleaned up the city. Among the well-known city service providers: Karaganda Su LLP, Karaganda Zharyk LLP, GorKomTrans LLP. Doctors from the Makazhanov Clinic, employees of the Department of Ecology, and the KSK Panel Center shared footage from the cleanup event.
