In Moscow, over the past 24 hours, a record number of new cases of coronavirus was revealed for the entire time of the pandemic – 9056. 78 people died. In general, 1,269,145 residents of the capital have suffered or are suffering from coronavirus. According to the mayor of the city, Sergei Sobyanin, the situation is dramatic and is rapidly deteriorating. In this regard, today the authorities have extended the effect of restrictive measures in Moscow.

Also, the top 5 in terms of the increase in COVID-19 cases per day included the Moscow region (+1254), St. Petersburg (+970), the Republic of Buryatia (+223) and the Nizhny Novgorod region (+218).

According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 177.4 million cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in the world during the pandemic, over 3.8 million people have died. The largest number of cases was recorded in the United States – more than 33.5 million cases, as well as in India (almost 29.8 million), Brazil (17.7 million), France (over 5.8 million) and Turkey (over 5.3 million ).
