In the framework of the celebration of the independence feat, in front of more than 18 thousand Salvadoran soldiers, President Nayib Bukele sent his message to the population; highlighting the sacrifice of the heroes of the country, who died tragically on September 8 in the canton of San Eduardo, Pasaquina, La Unión Norte.

“The tragedy we have just suffered is a painful reminder of the constant risk faced by those who choose to serve their country. Their commitment compels us to continue working harder for a safer and more united country,” said the Salvadoran president.

The military held a minute of silence in honor of the eight fallen heroes.

“We have come this far thanks to their sacrifice and that of thousands of brave men and women who love their country, just like each and every one of those who are before me today. You have shown us that, by working together for the common good, and putting the collective good before the individual, everything can be achieved. Even what seems unattainable,” said President Nayib Bukele.
