Among the crimes attributed to the captured gang members are several femicides and the murder of a German citizen residing in the country in 2017.
The gang members are linked to the murder of a German citizen who was killed in April 2016. They abandoned her body inside the trunk of a vehicle.
They are also accused of a femicide committed in January 2017 in San Salvador. They took her life, dismembered her body and buried it in different places.
The FGR and the PNC have jointly executed an operation to enforce 204 arrest warrants against Mao Mao gang members and other subjects linked to criminal acts committed in different areas of the country.
Among the cases under investigation are: 23 homicides, six femicides, five attempted homicides, illegal groups, money and asset laundering.
Some of the accused will be summoned to the various prisons where they are already serving time.
