by time news

A peak of traffic jams of 216 km was recorded at midday nationally on Saturday, a day classified as red in the direction of departures in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, according to Bison Futé.

As predicted by the road information center, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes has the most traffic jams, with 76 km around noon. The A43 motorway, between Lyon and Chambéry, is the most congested, with more than 30 km of traffic jams. Smart Bison advises against taking this axis until 5 p.m. Saturday.

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes only region in red

Only the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is classified red, due to the first departures of the holidays concerning zone A (academies of Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon and Poitiers).

The main difficulties should remain localized in the Alps, with a view to practicing winter sports, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the axes leading to ski resorts and around the Lyon and Grenoble conurbations. In addition to the A43, around ten km of traffic jams were recorded at midday on the N85 which connects several alpine resorts.
