Four gang members who committed crimes in different areas of San Marcos and San Salvador have been in existence for 226 years; between 2008 and 2017, they extorted merchants in downtown San Salvador.
The Attorney General’s Office of the Republic reported that Héctor Manuel Rodríguez Alférez, a runner for the MS, has been sentenced to 84 years in prison for the crimes of extortion, aggravated homicide and illicit associations.
Other gang members also received prison sentences of 65, 44 and 33 years.
Tax information indicates that the victims had to pay between $20 and $70 dollars a month in exchange for continuing to sell in the area.
All of them belong to the Zuritas Locos Salvatruchos, Diabolical Mafiosos Locos Salvatruchos, Octubres Little Zayco and Hollywood Locos Salvatruchos cliques, from the San Marcos and San Salvador programs.
The trial took place in the Fifth Court Against Organized Crime in San Salvador.
