Despite the many measures taken by the authorities, citizens and their property are far from safe. As proof, a theft of a large sum of money occurred in Garki, a district under the sub-prefecture of Popodara, about ten kilometers from the city of Labé.
The events occurred on Thursday, July 11, precisely in the Missidé Garki sector, but the news was only made public this Monday, July 15, 2024. According to the victim, the bystanders took advantage of the absence of the entire family to carry out the act.
“Last Thursday, I was at the weekly market, and my wife had gone to offer her condolences to a neighbor. There was no one at home. The wise men were gathered at the mosque, that’s when the thief entered my house through the window. When I came back, my wife told me that the lights were on, I told her that I had turned everything off. I then realized that I had been the victim of a burglary,” says Mamadou Bobo Diallo.
Continuing, our interlocutor returned to the amount taken. “When I made the report, I saw that he had stolen all my money. I do not remember the exact amount, but I had 15 million on one side, 13 million on the other, and 5 million elsewhere. These are the ones I remember, the rest, I do not know. But it was a large sum of money with a mobile phone. I am a cola seller, it is the money that I use for my business. For the moment, I have not yet filed a complaint, but I intend to do so. I ask the person who took this money to bring it back, otherwise he will be responsible for what could happen to him,” he promises.
