“Perhaps the respected politicians have forgotten that we have two types of security in our lives – external and internal. The fact that we think a lot and thoroughly about the country’s external security is, of course, correct, but we believe that we need to think much more about internal security – about , how people live, how they make ends meet,” said Barca.

The head of the federation admitted that she evaluates the upcoming changes in the non-taxable minimum for seniors. They will be especially good for working pensioners, Barcha admitted.

At the same time, seniors are also worried about other things. For example, pensioners want to gain clarity about health care – access to specialists, examinations. Barca regretted that at the moment you often have to wait even months.

The federation will try to address these and other issues to the politicians on Monday’s Seniors’ Day in Parliament.

LETA already announced that the non-taxable minimum for pensioners is expected to be increased from 500 to 1000 euros per month next year.
