More than 64 thousand Iraqi visitors came to Türkiye during the past year

/ The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced, on Thursday, that more than 64 thousand Iraqi visitors came to Turkey during the year 2023.

The ministry stated in a table seen by Agency that “the number of Iraqi visitors to Turkey during the past year amounted to 64,185 tourists, a decrease of 17% compared to the year 2022.”

The ministry added that “Iraq came at the forefront of Arab countries in terms of the number of tourists to Turkey, followed by Saudi Arabia in second place with 36,715 tourists, a decrease of 2% compared to 2022, followed by Lebanon in third place with 20,579 tourists, an increase of 28% compared to 2022.”

She added, “Jordan came in fourth with 15,134 tourists, down 30% from 2022, followed by Kuwait in fifth with 15,085 tourists, down 30% from 2022, followed by the UAE in sixth with 13,769 tourists, down 29%, Bahrain in seventh with 2,510 tourists, down 8%, Qatar in eighth with 2,950 tourists, up 5%, followed by Yemen in ninth with 2,019 tourists, down 12% from 2022.”

She indicated that “Arab countries accounted for 1.32% of the total tourists who visited Turkey last year, down by 12.62% from 2022.”
